How to Make Pumpkin Bars

Ideal for Halloween and Thanksgiving, these bars are easy to make and taste delicious.


Ingredients



  • 4 eggs

  • 1 16 oz/450g can pumpkin

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • ½ tsp cloves

  • 1 cups oil

  • 2 cups flour

  • ½ tsp salt

  • 2 cups sugar

  • 2 tsp baking powder

  • ½ tsp nutmeg


Icing:



  • 8 oz/225g cream cheese

  • 1 tsp vanilla

  • 1 tbsp soft butter

  • 2 cups powdered sugar


Steps


Preparing the Ingredients



  1. Mix all of the ingredients together in a large bowl.





  2. Spread evenly across a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.






Baking the Pumpkin Bars



  1. Place in the oven. Bake at 350ºF/180ºC for 20-30 minutes.






Decorating the Pumpkin Bars



  1. Prepare the icing. Mix the icing ingredients together until well combined. Add a little milk to improve consistency if necessary.





  2. Spread icing over the baked bar sheet when cooled.





  3. Cut into bars once the icing has set.
