How to Make a Supergroup on Telegram on PC or Mac

This wikiHow teaches you how to create a Telegram group capable of handling up to 20,000 members when you’re using a computer.

1. Open Telegram on your computer. If you’re using Windows, you’ll find it in the Windows menu. If you’re using a Mac, it’s in the Applications folder.
   
2. Click . It’s at the top-left corner of the window.

4. Type a name for your group and click . This is the name that group members will see.
   
5. Select group members. Clicking a contact’s name on the “Add Members” screen will add them to the list.
   
   • Don’t worry about adding all of your members now. You can always come back to add them later.
6. Click . The group is now active and ready to be upgraded to a Supergroup.
   

EditUpgrading to a Supergroup

1. Open Telegram on your computer. If you’re using Windows, you’ll find it in the Windows menu. If you’re using a Mac, it’s in the Applications folder.
   
2. Click the name of the group you want to upgrade. This opens the group in the larger panel.
   
3. Click the group’s name in the title bar. It’s above the right panel. This opens the group’s options menu.
   
4. Scroll down and click . It’s under the “Actions” header. A confirmation message will appear.
   
5. Click . Your group is now upgraded to Supergroup status.
