How to Make a Floating Candle Mason Jar

Here's a creative way to use a mason jar to make an awesome outdoor lantern!

Steps

  1. Obtain a bed spring.

  2. Cut both ends of the bed spring.

  3. Bend the middle part of the bed spring and shape into a handle.

  4. Clean your mason jar.

  5. Obtain a wire or a chain. You can also use an old necklace.

  6. Get a piece of the bed spring end you just cut and place one on the bottom of the jar.

  7. Place another on piece of the bed spring on top of the jar.

  8. Cut your chain to size. Measure the distance between the spring ends and cut a few pieces that are all the same length.

  9. Attach the chain to the bed springs. Use a malleable wire (or even a paper clip) to make the attachments.

  10. Attach the handle you made.

  11. Fill the jar 1/3 full with water.

  12. Place your candle inside the mason jar.

  13. Hang your jar outside on your garden fence. Light it up at night!
