How to Create a Sticky Note on a Mac's Dashboard

Sticky notes can help remind you about something. You can use sticky notes on a Mac’s dashboard to help remind you about something, because they're on the computer, and whenever you look at the dashboard, you will see the note and remember about the task you need to do. EditCreating the Sticky Note



  1. Go to your dashboard. Press the key on your keyboard to get there.





    • If you have the dashboard app on your dock, you can click the app and it will take you to the dashboard.

    • If you want a quick way to get to the dashboard, you can go to your finder and drag the app to your dock.



  2. Click the sign at the bottom left corner. It will open up a menu.





  3. Choose the “Stickies” option from the menu.





    • A sticky note will appear once you click the Sticky button.







  4. Click the “X” sign at the bottom left, at the left top corner of the menu.



EditAdding Colour to the Sticky Note



  1. Click the small “i” at the bottom right corner of the sticky note.


    • When you click the button, the sticky note will turn backward and show you colour options you can choose from.




  2. Choose any colour you want the sticky note to be.


  3. Click “Done.”


  4. Click the button at the top left corner of the menu.

  1. Click the “i” again, if you haven't yet.


  2. Choose the font size and style from the two boxes. These can be found under the colour options.


  3. Click “Done.”


  4. Start typing your sticky note.

  • If you don't want/need the sticky note anymore, click the on the top right corner of the sticky note.

  • For the font size selection, you can click the “Auto” option. This will give you any font size automatically.

  • If you'd like, you can click, hold, and drag the sticky note around if you want it in a different place of the screen.

  • If you want to change the colour/style or font size, just click the “i” again and choose your selections.
