Do you have an old bicycle rim hanging around your house? Are you a bike enthusiast looking for a new decor for your ceiling? Why not make a chandelier from an old bike rim?
Steps
- Find an old bike rim.
- Remove the wheel hub shell.
- Use a wrench or vice-grip pliers to remove the hub.
- Use a wrench or vice-grip pliers to remove the hub.
- Clean it thoroughly. Be sure to remove any dirt, grease and rust that remains on the wheel.
- Obtain a pendant lighting kit.
- Cut a shower curtain rod so that it is about 20 inches long (depending on the height of your ceiling)
- Insert end of the pendant light through the hub.
- Pull the wire until the bulb socket reaches the end of the hub.
- Pull the wire until the bulb socket reaches the end of the hub.
- Insert the end of the wire into the pre-cut shower curtain rod.
- Position the curtain rod on the center of the bike rim.
- Position the curtain rod on the center of the bike rim.
- Make a knot (wire) on the end of the rod to secure the wire. This will prevent the parts from moving out of position when the chandelier is hung.
- Screw a hook onto your ceiling.
- Tie a knot or secure the wiring with a ziptie. connect the wire to a power source.
- Screw a bulb and turn it on to test. Congratulation, you're done!

- 40 watt bulb
