How to Finding Dimes Meaning

Look for this symbol of good luck and connect with the spiritual world

Dimes can have incredible spiritual meaning. Depending on when or where you found them or what side of the coin was facing up, they can be a sign from a departed loved one, an omen of good luck, a sign that your intentions are bringing the rewards you need, and more. In the article, we have all the answers to your questions. Let’s dive in.

[Edit]Things You Should Know

  • If you find a dime, it could be a message from a loved one who’s died, a sign that you’re on the right path, or a symbol that you’re about to enter a new phase of life.
  • Finding a dime heads-up is considered to be good luck while finding a dime tails-up can symbolize that a higher power may guide you where you need to be.
  • Pay attention to how many dimes you find, where you find them, and what you’re thinking about at the time to figure out the dime’s personal message for you.

[Edit]Steps

[Edit]What does it mean when you find a dime?

  1. It’s a message from a deceased loved one. Some believe that loved ones can send messages from the other side of the spiritual realm. These messages are often wishes of good luck or reminders that the departed are still with us. If dimes seem to constantly appear around you, it could be a sign that someone from beyond is trying to support and comfort you.[1]
    Finding Dimes Meaning Step 1.jpg
    • Look at the year etched on the coin—it may be important in some way to your relationship with the person who has passed, and add personal meaning to your message from beyond.
    • If a loved one is near, you might also be visited by them in your dream, smell something that reminds you of them, find lost items that moved from their usual locations without explanation, or witness electrical disturbances like lights that flicker or dim.
    • Dimes can also be found just by chance, but if they consistently appear around you when they normally do not, it may be a sign that someone from beyond is trying to let you know they’re there to support and comfort you.
  2. It’s a sign to trust your instincts and intuition. In numerology, dimes are often associated with their value, the number 10. Adding 1+0 equals 1, a number that symbolizes confidence, independence, and the self. If you see a dime, it’s a sign to trust what your gut is telling you when making an important decision—take full advantage of the possibilities before you.[2]
    Finding Dimes Meaning Step 2.jpg
    • The number 1 often represents the root of opportunity in life—finding a dime could also be a sign to take control of your future and turn your dreams and desires into action.
  3. It’s confirmation that you’re on the right path. In numerology, dimes can be the confirmation you need when making a decision. If you’re struggling between two different life paths or questioning whether a choice you made was the correct one, finding a dime can be a sign that you’re moving in the direction you need to be.[3]
    Finding Dimes Meaning Step 3.jpg
  4. It signifies that you’re about to encounter a new phase of your life. If you’ve been going through a difficult period, finding a dime can signal a new beginning about to arrive at your doorstep. The dime’s power comes from its value in numerology—it can be a reminder to be open to change and embrace new experiences with open arms.[4]
    Finding Dimes Meaning Step 4.jpg
  5. It’s a sign of good luck. Finding coins of any type is believed to be good luck, but finding a dime is associated with good fortune, growth, and progress. If you need a little extra hope and happen to find a dime somewhere unexpected, it can be a sign that success and prosperity are just around the corner.[5]
    Finding Dimes Meaning Step 5.jpg
    • Dimes made after 1965 are mainly made from copper, a material that was considered by some cultures as a special gift from the gods that attracts love and protects against evil.[6]
  6. It’s a sign of manifestation and abundance. If you find a dime, it can be a sign that the intentions you’re sending out are finally coming true and that what you desire is making its way to you. You may experience abundance in unexpected ways, whether you encounter a little extra money or experience an influx of positive energy.[7]
    Finding Dimes Meaning Step 6.jpg
  7. It means that you’re in tune with your spirituality. The number 10, which is often associated with dimes, is often considered a holy number and is seen throughout lots of religious texts, including the Bible. If you see a dime, it can be a sign that you’re deeply connected with your spiritual side.[8]
    Finding Dimes Meaning Step 7.jpg
    • Some believe that finding a dime can mean that an angel is sending you their blessings. It’s a reminder that they may be listening to and guiding you on your journey.
    • You might dream about finding dimes if you’ve lost sight of your spiritual needs. If this happens, try reconnecting with your spiritual side by praying, listening to what your body needs, or practicing daily meditation.

[Edit]What does heads or tails on a dime signify?

  1. Heads{endbold} Finding a dime heads-up is often considered an omen of good luck. All that you’ve been working towards, whether in your career, your home life, or your hobbies and passions, will bring the rewards you’ve been anticipating.[9]
    Finding Dimes Meaning Step 8.jpg
    • It can also be a sign to face whatever you’re confronting or wherever you are in life head-on. You have all the power and strength you need to move forward.
  2. Tails{endbold} Finding a dime tails-up can symbolize direction. Just as the torch etched on the back of the coin lights your way, something is guiding you to where you need to be. Whether it’s a higher power, a guardian angel, or your intuition, if you’re struggling to make an important decision, a tails-up dime can be a sign that whatever you’re leaning toward can lead you to the right path.
    Finding Dimes Meaning Step 9.jpg
    • Some consider it bad luck to pick up a tails-up dime. However, trust your intuition—it may be that picking up the dime is what you need to remind yourself that everything will work out in the end.

[Edit]What to Pay Attention to When You Find a Dime

  1. The number of dimes you find can change their meaning. Part of the spiritual significance of dimes comes from their numerology, and if you come across a certain number of dimes at one time, this number can shape its spiritual meaning. For example, if you find:[10]
Finding Dimes Meaning Step 10 Version 2.jpg
    • One Dime - The number one represents new beginnings. If you find a dime, you may find good fortune in a new job opportunity, a new relationship, or an upcoming opportunity. It can also indicate that your focus on accumulating wealth may soon finally pay off.
    • Two Dimes - Two symbolizes balance, love, and connection. Finding two dimes can be a sign that a departed loved one is near or that a new friendly or romantic relationship will bring positive energy into your life.
    • Three Dimes - Three signifies creativity, youth, and optimism. Seeing three dimes can confirm that you’re on a joyful and fulfilling path. You’re on the right track, and with focus and patience, you may see the fruits of your labor.
    • Four Dimes - Four indicates stability and reliability. Finding four dimes might have to do with your career, finances, or home life. If you’re feeling conflict in one of those areas, it can be a sign that you’ll soon experience comfort and steady growth.
    • Five Dimes - Five represents change and adventure. Finding five dimes can signify a life-changing opportunity, especially one related to travel. Whether it has to do with your romantic or work life, you might be about to see a ton of new people, cultures, and views.
  2. Where you found the dime can also change its meaning. Any time you receive a message from the spiritual realm, looking at the context in which it appeared to you can help you decipher what it means to you. If you find a dime in a certain spot, here’s what it may represent:[11]
    Finding Dimes Meaning Step 11.jpg
    • In your pocket: Your spirit guide is watching you, and blesses you with good luck. Consider what article of clothing you found it in. For example, if you found a dime in your work uniform, it could signify new opportunities in your career.
    • In someone else’s pocket: The meaning depends on whose pocket it is. If the person is a friend, lover, or family member, the dime could be a sign that your relationship will grow closer. If the person is a stranger, it may be a warning that you’ll be accused of something you didn’t do.
    • In your bed: A sign from a loved one, especially a spouse or lost lover. If you’re currently married, it could symbolize that you have a passionate physical relationship. However, if you find the dime under your bed, it may be a sign that someone in your home is keeping secrets.
    • On the ground: An omen of good luck. This meaning of good fortune may be especially true if the dime is found heads-up.
    • In your shoe: A sign of good fortune for your marriage or relationship. It can also symbolize wealth, new travel opportunities, or luck. The type of shoe may also tell you what it means—if you found a dime in your nicest shoes, you may find good luck related to dating and romance.
  3. Listen to your thoughts and feelings when you find a dime. If the dime feels significant to you at the moment, it probably is. If you were going through a particular experience or emotion at the time, this might help you discover what the dime means to you—reflect on the dime’s possible interpretations and see which one resonates with you the most.[12]
    Finding Dimes Meaning Step 12.jpg
    • For example, if you felt sad or disappointed by a missed opportunity, the dime you found might signify that more opportunities and positive energy are headed your way soon.

How to Reduce Bitter Taste in Food

Bitterness is one of the essential flavors in our taste palette, and lots of bitter foods are especially healthy. However, you might find bitter tastes off-putting or have a dish that you accidentally added too much bitterness to. Don't worry, you’re in luck! There are lots of tricks and strategies to mask or counteract bitter flavors and help you enjoy whatever meal is in front of you.

[Edit]Steps

[Edit]Balance out bitterness with some fat.

  1. Fat naturally masks bitter tastes and makes them more palatable. This is why adding some milk or cream to coffee makes it taste better. Try using a cream sauce, milk, fatty cheese, olive oil, or similar fatty ingredients to help cover bitter tastes.[1]
Reduce Bitter Taste in Food Step 1.jpg
    • This is a great trick to get kids to eat more bitter vegetables like broccoli, brussels sprouts, or cabbage. Add some cheese or cheese sauce to their veggies and they won’t notice the bitterness.[2]

[Edit]Cover the flavor with sweetness.

  1. Who doesn’t love some sweetness in their food? Again, think about coffee—there’s a reason we like sweetening it a bit. The sweetness naturally covers bitter tastes. Throw a pinch of sugar or some honey into bitter foods and drinks to enhance the flavor a bit.[3]

    • Pairing bitter tastes with sugar or chocolate also makes a unique dessert flavor.
    • Don’t overdo it with the sugar! The American Heart Association recommends having no more than 25-36 g of sugar per day for good health, so watch how much you’re using and don’t exceed that limit.[4]

[Edit]Sprinkle some salt over your food.

  1. A pinch of salt makes everything better, including bitter foods. The saltiness naturally counteracts the bitterness, so don’t be shy about using a bit of salt in meals that are too bitter.[5]

    • This is an especially good trick if you’re cooking bitter vegetables, like with roasted broccoli or brussels sprouts. Toss them in some olive oil and salt before cooking to introduce new flavors.[6]
    • Just like with sugar, you have to watch your salt intake to maintain good health. The recommended salt intake per day is 2,300 mg, or just about 1/2 tsp.[7]

[Edit]Try a pinch of baking soda.

  1. This might sound a little weird, but it works! Baking soda is very alkaline, which is a good way to correct overly bitter dishes. Sprinkle just a pinch into your food and mix it in well to see if that helps.[8]
Reduce Bitter Taste in Food Step 4.jpg
    • This is a good trick for if you’re cooking and realize that you added too much of a bitter ingredient. Mix in a pinch of baking soda before the dish is done to fix that.
    • Be very careful not to add more than a pinch or two! Any more than that and your food won’t taste very good.

[Edit]Squeeze in some vinegar or lemon juice.

  1. Sour, acidic tastes like these naturally counteract bitterness. Try squeezing some fresh lemon juice or adding a spoonful of vinegar to bitter dishes to neutralize the flavor a bit.[9]
Reduce Bitter Taste in Food Step 5.jpg
    • Using acidic or sour dressings is a great way to enhance the taste of bitter vegetables in your salads like kale, radishes, or arugula.
    • If you make a mistake and add too much vinegar or lemon juice to a dish, some baking soda can help fix that flavor too by eliminating the acid.[10]

[Edit]Add some spice to your foods.

  1. Good news for spice lovers! Spices mask bitter flavors, so don’t be shy. Add some spicy peppers or powders to your cooking, or sprinkle some onto your dishes for a little bit of extra heat.[11]

    • Black pepper in particular has compounds that counteract bitterness.
    • Some other great spices include cayenne, red pepper, paprika, and chili powder.

[Edit]Cook with herbs to cut through the bitter taste.

  1. Herbs distract you from bitterness by activating other taste receptors. Mix some basil, coriander, sage, and rosemary into your cooking for great, bitter-free flavors.[12]
Reduce Bitter Taste in Food Step 7.jpg
    • Mixing fresh herbs into a stir-fry or roasted dish adds a whole new flavor element to your cooking.
    • You can also get dried herbs like basil, ginger, and oregano to sprinkle onto your meals. These last a lot longer than fresh varieties.

[Edit]Chill the food to reduce bitterness.

  1. If you don’t mind eating cold food, this is the choice for you. It’s a fact that colder food and drinks are less bitter, which is why you might find iced tea or coffee easier to drink. Try leaving bitter meals in the fridge before eating them to see if that improves the flavor.[13]
Reduce Bitter Taste in Food Step 8.jpg
    • This is a good trick for bitter vegetables. Leave them in the fridge for a few hours to cool off before eating them.
    • You could also combine this with other tricks, like adding some salt or fat to the meal.

[Edit]Mix bitter ingredients into larger dishes.

  1. When in doubt, just cover the bitter tastes. Make dishes with lots of different ingredients and only add in a little bit of the bitter ones. This should mask the bitter flavors while still allowing you to get all the health benefits from bitter foods.[14]
Reduce Bitter Taste in Food Step 9.jpg
    • Some non-bitter foods include beans, carrots, corn, eggplant, lettuce, and potatoes. Try hiding some bitter foods in a dish with these ingredients.[15]
    • This trick works well with salads. You could mix bitter ingredients like arugula with more neutral tastes like romaine. Top the salad with a lemon vinaigrette to mask the bitterness even more.

[Edit]Eat more bitter foods to get used to them.

  1. You can actually teach your body what kinds of foods to like. If you just keep eating bitter foods, you’ll eventually desensitize yourself to bitter tastes. It might not seem fun right now, but it can make a big difference in the long term![16]
Reduce Bitter Taste in Food Step 10.jpg
    • This is a good strategy because some other tricks to make bitter food taste better, like adding sugar or fat, aren’t the healthiest. This would help you eat bitter foods without adding other ingredients.

[Edit]Tips

  • Don't be afraid to experiment with flavors! You might have to try out a few different spices and herbs to find that perfect combination to mask bitterness.

How to Use Hair Removal Creams

If you're tired of shaving all the time but you don't want to face the pain of waxing, a hair removal cream might be the perfect fit for your grooming needs. Also known as depilatory creams, they are quick, inexpensive, and easy to use. Read on to learn how to safely and effectively use a depilatory cream for smooth skin that can last up to a week. Or, jump straight an in-depth video explaining how to apply nair cream here.

[Edit]Steps

[Edit]Applying the Cream

  1. Apply a thick, even layer over the hair you want to remove. Use your fingers or a spatula, if provided. Do not rub the cream into your skin, just spread it.[1] Wash your hands immediately if you apply with your fingers.
Use Hair Removal Creams Step 1 Version 6.jpg
    • Uneven application means your hair could come off in patches, leaving you with spots of hair, which is probably not the look you're going for.
    • Never apply a hair removal cream to your nostrils, ears, the skin around your eyes (including your eyebrows), genitals, anus, or nipples.
  2. Leave the cream on for the amount of time recommended in the directions. This can be anywhere between three to ten minutes, though the time rarely exceeds ten minutes. Most directions recommend checking a small area about halfway through the process to see if hair comes off.[2] The shorter the amount of time the depilatory cream is in contact with your skin, the less likely you are to develop redness or irritation.
Use Hair Removal Creams Step 2 Version 7.jpg
    • Because you can really harm your skin if you leave the cream on too long, set an egg timer or use the timer on your phone to make sure you don't exceed the limit.
    • Some tingling is normal, but if you start to feel burning, see redness or irritation, remove the cream immediately. Depending on your reaction, you may want to call your doctor for advice on how to treat your skin.
    • You may notice a bad smell while you are using the cream. That's a normal side effect of the chemical reaction that is breaking down your hair.[3]
  3. Remove the cream with a damp washcloth or spatula if provided. Wipe gently--don't rub the cream. Rinse the area with warm water to make sure the cream has been removed entirely.[4] If you don't rinse off the residue, the chemicals could continue to react with your skin and cause a rash or chemical burn.
Use Hair Removal Creams Step 3 Version 6.jpg
    • Pat, don't rub, your skin dry.
    • Apply a moisturizer to the area to keep it smooth and hydrated.
  4. Don't worry if your skin is a little red or itchy after use--that's normal. Wear loose clothing right after using the cream and don't scratch the area. If the redness and discomfort continues after a few hours or gets worse, call your doctor.
Use Hair Removal Creams Step 4 Version 8.jpg
  5. Read the directions that came with the cream and follow them exactly. Different brands and different products within that brand will have different instructions. One type of hair removal might take only three minutes, while another might take ten.[5] Following the directions will give you the best results and help protect your skin.
Use Hair Removal Creams Step 5 Version 7.jpg
    • If you lost the directions that came with your cream, you can find them on the bottle or tube. Otherwise, check the company's website. They should have instructions for each kind of cream.
    • Check the "use by" date to make sure your cream is not expired. An expired depilatory cream will not work very well and give you poor results.
  6. Observe any warnings in the directions, such as avoiding sunbathing, swimming, and tanning for 24 hours. You should also wait 24 hours to use anti-perspirant or products with fragrances.[6]
Use Hair Removal Creams Step 6 Version 7.jpg
    • You should not shave or use a hair removal cream in the same area for 72 hours after use.

[Edit]Things to Keep In Mind

  1. Find the right cream for your skin. There are lots of different brands of hair removal cream, and lots of choices within those brands. When choosing a cream, think about your skin's sensitivity and where you plan on using the product.[7] Some companies even make a waterproof depilatory that can be applied in the shower.
Use Hair Removal Creams Step 7 Version 8.jpg
    • If you are using the cream on your face or bikini area, make sure you choose formula specifically for those areas, as the skin is more sensitive.
    • If you have sensitive skin, look for creams with ingredients like aloe and green tea. You may also want to speak with a doctor or dermatologist before use.
    • Depilatory creams can come in different forms, from aerosols (or sprays), gels, and roll-ons.
    • A roll-on won't be as messy as a cream or gel, but the creams and gels let you control how thick you apply them (and usually the thicker the better).
    • If you are sensitive to smells, try a cream that has added a scent to cover the eggy smell of the cream reacting to your hair. Just remember that additional ingredients can increase the chances of irritation.
    • Buy from a reputable place instead of buying from a random site on the internet.[8]
    • If the price of a product is too low compared to its retail price, it may not be genuine.[9]
  2. Talk to your doctor if you have very sensitive skin, a skin condition, or take any medications that may affect your skin. Because the cream is applied directly to the skin, the chemicals that break down the proteins in your hair will also interact with the proteins in your skin and could cause a reaction.[10] Consult your doctor before using depilatory creams if:
Use Hair Removal Creams Step 8 Version 8.jpg
    • You have developed rashes, hives, or allergic reactions to skin products in the past.
    • You take a retinol, acne medication, or other medication that increases your skin's sensitivity.
    • You have a skin condition such as eczema, psoriasis, or rosacea.
    • Usually, dermatologists recommend using medical-grade creams with proven clinical benefits.[11]
  3. Do an allergy test 24 hours before using the cream, even if you've used it before. Your hormone levels are always changing, and they cause your skin to change, too. Even if you've never had a reaction to the hair removal cream before, your skin's chemistry may have changed slightly and could cause you to react.[12]
Use Hair Removal Creams Step 9 Version 8.jpg
    • Apply a small amount of cream to the area where you plan to remove the hair. Follow the directions, leaving the cream on for the advised amount of time and removing properly.
    • If the tested area does not react in the next 24 hours, it is safe to use the depilatory cream.
  4. Examine the area for any cuts, scrapes, moles, scars, cold sores, irritated or sunburnt skin. You want to minimize your chances of having a bad reaction to the cream and potentially developing a rash or chemical burn. Don't apply the cream directly to any scars or moles, and if you have a sunburn, rash or cut, wait until you are completely healed before going ahead with the application.
Use Hair Removal Creams Step 10 Version 7.jpg
    • There may be tiny cuts on your skin if you have shaved recently--wait a day or two before applying the cream.
  5. Take a shower or bath, drying your skin thoroughly afterwards. This will ensure you don't have any lotions or anything on your skin that might interfere with the hair removal cream. Make sure your skin is dry afterwards, as most depilatory creams need to be applied to dry skin.
Use Hair Removal Creams Step 11 Version 5.jpg
    • Don't use hot water, as this can dry out your skin and may increase chances of irritation.
    • Soaking in warm water can soften your hair, which may make it easier to break down. This is especially helpful for very coarse hair, like pubic hair.

How to Improve Your Personality

Your personality includes your individual differences from other people in how you think, feel, and behave.[1] You might want to improve your personality if you just moved to a new school, got a new job, or simply because you want to be your best version of yourself. You can develop a warmer personality by making good connections with others, learning new things, and having some fun!

[Edit]Steps

[Edit]Developing Your Conversation Skills

  1. Read something every day. Another component of improving your personality is expanding your knowledge. Keep up with the current news by reading a few articles on your phone or open a novel and read a chapter or two. This will help stimulate your mind and give you things to discuss with others.[2]
Improve Your Personality Step 1 Version 3.jpg
  2. Develop opinions on important issues. From your readings, begin to form your own opinions about the current events of today. You might find that others will be debating the issue around you soon, so you’ll want to have something to contribute. Make sure you articulate your points with grace and logic.[3]
Improve Your Personality Step 2 Version 3.jpg
    • You might say something like, “Though I can understand the arguments against affirmative action, I do believe this country has done some terrible things to setback minorities and that we have some responsibility to correct that.”
  3. Be a good listener. When others are speaking, listen to understand them. Don’t wait until they’re finished so you can respond, but truly focus in on what they’re saying. Try to repeat back what they’ve said to you every few minutes so you can show that you hear them.[4]
Improve Your Personality Step 3 Version 3.jpg
    • You might say something like, “So, Jan it seems like you’re frustrated that your boss decided to promote the new guy instead of you. I can see how that would be really upsetting.”
  4. Put your phone down. To make deeper connections with others and improve your personality, unplug from time to time. You'll be much more well received if you're engaged with those around you as opposed to scrolling down your timeline or liking pics.[5]
Improve Your Personality Step 4 Version 3.jpg

[Edit]Becoming More Well-Rounded

  1. Meet new people. Making new connections can help teach you more about others and build your social skills. Seek friendships with those different from your current friends so you can become a more well-rounded person.[6]
Improve Your Personality Step 5 Version 3.jpg
    • You might join a club at your school to meet new folks, go to a church, or find a group tailored to your interests, like a book club.
  2. Practice a fun hobby. The most fun and enjoyable people aren’t the ones cooped up at home watching Netflix all day! They’re out and about doing fun and productive things. Find something that you enjoy that can help connect you to others while also peaking your interest.[7]
Improve Your Personality Step 6 Version 3.jpg
    • For instance, you might try horseback riding, swimming, or joining a fitness class.
    • Make sure to try out new hobbies as well. This will test the limits of your comfort zone and help you to grow.
  3. Do something just for you daily. The people with the best personalities are usually those who are the happiest. Make yourself happy by spending some time each day, even if it’s just fifteen minutes, doing something fun for you.
Improve Your Personality Step 7 Version 3.jpg
    • You might choose to play basketball, get some ice cream, watch a movie, or go to dinner with a friend.
    • When you’re feeling crabby throughout your day, improve your mood by watching a funny video or searching for funny memes.
  4. Maintain a healthy diet. Improve your personality and your mood by eating healthy foods. Fruit in particular has been proven to help increase motivation so munch on some apples, oranges and bananas today![8]
Improve Your Personality Step 8 Version 3.jpg
  5. Meditate daily. Sometimes, life can be a mess and it can make your mind even messier. Without proper focus, you might find that you’re rude to others, absent-minded, or just plain grouchy. Take some time each day to clear your mind and improve your mental health by meditating.[9]
Improve Your Personality Step 9 Version 3.jpg
    • If you’ve never meditated before, try using an app on your phone like Headspace, Calm, or Insight Timer.
  6. Reflect on what you’re grateful for each day. Each day, either in the morning or before you go to bed, take some time to think about one thing you’re grateful for. This will help you become a more positive person and ensure you don’t take anything for granted.[10]
Improve Your Personality Step 10 Version 3.jpg
    • You might choose to write these down or simply meditate or pray about them. Get into the habit of writing down 3 things that you are grateful for every day. You may even want to set a reminder on your phone so that you remember to do this.
  7. Spend time with family and friends. The best folks to improve your personality with and for are those closest to you. Spend time each week connecting with them. Visit your mom and bring her flowers, or bring over soup to your friend who is sick. They will appreciate your thoughtfulness and will return the favor to you. Now go forth and show everyone how awesome you are!
Improve Your Personality Step 11 Version 3.jpg

[Edit]Making a Good Impression

  1. Greet everyone with a smile. The first and most simple step you can take to improve your personality is to give everyone a warm greeting. People will perceive you as friendly and kind if you smile when you see them. Flash your pearly whites and shake their hands or hug them.
Improve Your Personality Step 12 Version 3.jpg
  2. Mind your manners. Politeness conveys respect and thoughtfulness to others. Use the appropriate titles, such as Dr., when greeting someone. Show special respect to elders, always referring to them as Mr. or Mrs./Ms.
Improve Your Personality Step 13 Version 3.jpg
    • Have good table manners too. Sit up straight, keep your elbows off the table, and don’t smack or slurp.
  3. Ask open-ended questions. When you meet someone, don’t go on and on about yourself; get to know them instead! Ask them questions about themselves that require more than a ‘yes’ or ‘no’ answer.[11]
Improve Your Personality Step 14 Version 3.jpg
    • You might say something like, “So, I hear you’re a big music buff. Who are some of your favorite artists?”
    • If you have trouble making conversation with others, join a group like Toastmasters. They're designed to help build your confidence in networking and public speaking.
  4. Keep your promises. Those who have good personalities are often very reliable and trustworthy people. If you tell someone you’ll do something, don’t make excuses! Just follow through so they know they can depend on you.[12]
Improve Your Personality Step 15 Version 3.jpg
    • For instance, if you have a meeting set for 10 AM, arrive a few minutes early. This will show that you are respectful of others time. If you tell your mom you’ll take her to dinner for her birthday, do it! Get her a card, too!
  5. Offer a helping hand to those in need. Always look for little opportunities to help others. See someone struggling to get a book off a high shelf? Step in if you can. Or perhaps you’re on a bus and a woman with a cane enters. Offer her your seat! Personality is created in part by all of the kindness you show for others, so get started today![13]
Improve Your Personality Step 16 Version 2.jpg
  6. Continue doing these things even if they don’t come naturally. Keep in mind that it takes time for changes to become habits, or to even become comfortable with new behaviors. 2. Make an action plan. In order to achieve your goals, you’ll need a plan. Write down what you want to do and each step required to achieve it. Celebrate at each step as you make it through![15]
