How to Make a Cheap Hard Saddle Bag for Bicycles

Put together a very practical (and inexpensive) saddle bag for your bike for storage of wallets, cell phones or tools.

Steps

  1. Find a suitable plastic container. Find something durable that will not break easily.

  2. Mark holes for where the plastic container will be mounted on the bike with a marker.

  3. Drill the holes.

  4. Obtain two large zip ties.

  5. Insert the zip ties into the holes you made.

  6. Cut some duct tape and place it over the holes. This will make your container weather proof.

  7. Grab a can of spray paint and paint it if desired.

  8. Strap it to the back of the brackets of your bike seat.

  9. Cut the excess zip ties.

  10. Place your wallet, mobile phone or tools into your new saddle bag.

  11. Replace the cover.

  12. You're done! Now your stuff is safe from the elements!
