How to Convert a Tripod Into a Monopod

Have a useless broken tripod hanging around? Repurpose it by converting it into a monopod!

Steps

  1. Remove the tripod head. Choose the leg that is in the best condition and keep it. You can throw the rest of the legs away.

  2. Discard the rubber gripping from the base of the legs.

  3. Drill a 1/4 size hole out of the leg.

  4. Drill a hole into the tripod head as well.

  5. Attach the head to the leg using a screw and nut. Secure them by tightening the screw.

  6. Mount your camera to the head of the tripod and enjoy those selfies!

Things you'll need

  • Broken tripod

  • Drill

  • Screw 1/4 size
