The restaurant owner thought it was all a joke at first.
This is Larry the lobster. He's very large, very old, and very lucky to be alive thanks to an intervention from some animal lovers.
Joe Melluso found Larry while picking up fish for his seafood restaurant, Tin Fish, in Sunrise, Florida.
"The lobster salesman said to me, 'I got a big one in there today,'" Melluso told BuzzFeed News.
"I said 'how big' and he said 15 pounds. And I said, 'no way.'"
It's hard to say exactly how old Larry is, but according to Melluso, the rule of thumb is 7 years for every pound of lobster. That means Larry could be as old as 110.
Melluso snapped him up for $200 and took him back to Tin Fish.
