How to Use Headphones on an iPhone 7

Apple's iPhone 7 lacks the traditional 3.5 millimeter headphone jack, but you still have a couple of different headphone options. You can use the standard-issue pair of headphones from Apple by plugging them into the same port you use to charge your phone, or you can purchase a Digital-to-Analogue Converter (DAC) to enable standard headphone usage.

1. Locate your iPhone's Lightning port. While the 3.5 millimeter headphone jack is gone, the traditional charging port--also known as the Lighting port-- is still at the bottom of your phone. You'll plug your Lightning headphones cable into this slot.^[1]
